FLASHBACK

HAPPINESS INTERLUDE: In February 1964, the lads from Liverpool landed at JFK and changed a generation lost in grief. This week, I am honoring my beloved John Lennon across my channels. Please indulge and watch The Beatles ‘64, before we forget what happiness really looks like and feels like!! The Beatles’ ‘64 film is now streaming on Disney+. This is a beautiful feeling film! On every level. The art direction and cinematography were beautifully restored. The emotion is captured perfectly. There are tears in grown men’s eyes recounting memories and emotions that seem lost in space right now. Shout out to Jack Douglas for the best story of all! No one recounting stories is dry-eyed. It’s impossible to remember love and not be emotional. Typing this is emotional for me because I miss us from 1964. Especially John and George (whose personalities really shine in this). Anyone who doubts the magic of collective hope should silently watch this film with reverence and awe. As always, I deeply honour my tribe, the creative directors whose vision created this beautiful film. The film includes rare footage shot by pioneering documentarians Albert and David Maysles, beautifully restored in 4K by Park Road Post in New Zealand. The live performances from The Beatles’ first American concert at the Washington, DC Coliseum and their Ed Sullivan appearances were demixed by WingNut Films and remixed by Giles Martin. Spotlighting this singular cultural moment and its continued resonance today, the music and footage are augmented by newly filmed interviews with Paul and Ringo, as well as fans whose lives were transformed by The Beatles.

Beatles ’64 is directed by David Tedeschi and produced by Martin Scorsese, Margaret Bodde, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, Olivia Harrison, Sean Ono Lennon, Jonathan Clyde, Mikaela Beardsley, with Jeff Jones and Rick Yorn serving as executive producers. THANK YOU ALL! ♥️ #behousedesign #artdirector #1964

Most especially, John, Paul, George & Ringo.
